The first drawing of Kaju was a hat with legs. The hat is still there; the legs got shorter.
Character before curriculum
Educational content often starts with a learning objective and adds a character to deliver it. We did the reverse. Kaju had to be someone children would want to spend time with even if nothing was being taught.
Only then did we map what a kitchen naturally teaches: counting, measuring, patience, following steps, sharing, and failing gracefully when the cake collapses.
A good children’s character is a friend first and a lesson second.
A world designed to extend
From the beginning, Kaju’s world was designed to move across formats — episodes, songs, games, recipe cards and eventually real kitchen tools sized for small hands.
